A man faces murder charges after stabbing a victim to death in Garland County Friday night.
Lt. James Martin said 40-year-old Shea O’Neill is charged with second degree murder following the stabbing death of 23-year-old Easton Hogue around the area of Amity Road and South Moore Road on Nov. 8.
O’Neill was found on the side of the road at around 10 p.m. near the stabbing location trying to flag down traffic, Martin said; O’Neill was bloody and had apparently been beaten about the head.
Hogue was brought to Mercy Hospital sometime later by three people in a private vehicle; he eventually died as a result of his injuries, according to Martin.
The case is not without some conflicting accounts. Martin said O’Neill claims he was defending himself against two men who attacked him in the car, and the witnesses that brought Hogue to the hospital said O’Neill had gotten into a verbal dispute with another man present and eventually lunged into Hogue from the front seat.
At the time of this report, O’Neill was in the hospital for observation; his condition is unknown.
