Hot Springs Police arrested a man over the weekend after a check of his license plate returned to a different vehicle.
Raymond Jordan, 49, of 805 Peter in Hot springs was arrested for Possession of Firearms by a Certain Person, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct and Theft by Receiving.
According to the report, ON December 14 at about 1:21PM Officer Rostan observed a maroon Ford Crown Victoria traveling west on Grand Avenue. An ACIC check revealed that the license plate displayed returned to a Ford Explorer.
Officer Rostan then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in from of Hot Springs Police Department. The driver, identified as Raymond Jordan exited the vehicle. Jordan was advised several times to get back into the vehicle. He refused to comply. Jordan was then detained for officer safety.
Officers then observed a small Jiminez .380 semi automatic hand gun in plain view on the front seat. Officers observed Jordan was also uneasy on his feet and smelled of alcohol. Officer also noted a half empty bottle of whiskey on the front seat.
An ACIC/NCIC check of Jordan revealed that he was a convicted felon. An ACIC/NCIC check of the firearm also revealed that it was stolen out of North Little Rock.
Jordan was searched and a small brass pipe was located that is used to inhale controlled substances.
After being placed into custody, Jordan advised that he wanted to kill himself and was transported to Mercy Hospital for evaluation. While at Mercy, Jordan became extremely belligerent and began yelling and cursing at hospital staff and others that were in the area. Jordan’s behavior began to draw the attention of several patients, family members, causing them to come out of their rooms.
Jordan was then taken to the Garland County Detention Center.
