Caddo-Womble Ranger District To Begin Releasing Firewood Permits


HOT SPRINGS, AR. — Firewood cutting permits will be available to the public beginning at 8 a.m., Sept. 13 on the Caddo-Womble Ranger District at Mount Ida., Ark.

A limited number of $20 firewood permits will be released to the public allowing an individual or family to cut 2.43 cubic feet cords of firewood for home use.

Cutting is limited to only trees already felled by Forest Service contractors in specifically designated firewood areas.

Firewood areas will be patrolled regularly by Forest Service law enforcement to prevent illegal cutting.

Firewood permits can be purchased at the Caddo-Womble Ranger District located at 1523 Hwy. 270 East, located in Mt. Ida, Ark.

Private use firewood is one of the many benefits of the multiple use mission of the Forest Service.
